Interesting POV - which I tend to agree with. WRT the wording of my fifth item I'll take a look and see what I can do. You are right, in any case, that OS needs to be much more clearly defined. In discussing my idea with not-so-technical people I've found that there is a lot of confusion about which pieces of Windows are properly considered part of the OS. Just about everyone thinks that the Explorer is an operating system component.
