David,

As always you are very helpful. I opened in paint and resaved. Worked like a charm. BTW - to clarify/correct what I originally said: 1) When opening the bad gif in vfp6 - the gif shows as just a black image, in vfp7 - crashes.

Haven't tried vfp8 yet - this project is a vfp 6 app.

I'll email the files to you separately. Let me know what you find. Thanks again.
