There are several different possible ways to go about what you want to do, depending on what your real aim is. I can't tell, this is a confusing thread <s>.

1) It is possible to create a PDF document from VFP without buying anything. For what it's worth, it has been possible since FPW 2.5. It is a lot easier in VFP 9 <s>.

2) It is possible to adjust the XSLT that is delivered with the the product to do anything you want, including using text instead of fields for some expressions, as David told you. The reason for the fields is some slight mismatches of contents length, especially when fields stretch (the line spacing and bordering aren't perfect when they're translated to HTML, so it is better to make the textboxes and editboxes than lose the information on-screen).

If you know what your reports are like, however, and if your objects have plenty of space to determine their contents, you can change this.

But you can also can write a completely different representation of the contents for HTML. For example, it does not necessarily have to be paginated in the same way as printed content.

3) You can explain what you mean by "edit easily" and we can offer other solutions <s>. Were you editing the PDF easily? If so, see #1. Or were you simply deriving text from the PDF so that you could edit the text afterwards? In this case, you should either write an XSLT that gives you what you really want to edit as the final result, or just include the XML rather than the HTML, or write a simple report listener to derive the text output you want. I recommend that you use the XML for many reasons, but you don't have to <s>.
