Tracy,

I can see your logic Kevin, but doesn't that also imply that developers are wasting their time using Delphi 8 and the other languages that utilize the .net framework?

Interesting question. I'm not an expert on Delphi, but my initial response is 'no', it does not imply that.

It seems possibly to be apples vs oranges, because Delphi 8 appears to BE a .NET product (hence, the name "Delphi 8 for the Microsoft .NET Framework"), with full support for the framework. I think there's a big difference between that and what has been discussed here for VFP.

Borland has licensed the .NET Framework SDK. So from what I can see (and if anyone is using Delphi 8, please feel free to comment), when you use Delphi 8, you essentially ARE building a .NET application.

As feedback is being solicited for which FC people would like (and asking then to justify WHY), it would seem that the endeavor they're looking at is something quite different from Delphi 8, which (from what I see on their web site) already 'plays in the .NET sandbox'.

Kevin
