I happen to comment my changes, but developers don't always do what they're supposed to do. Additionally, it's not always easy to comment the entire change without leaving the old code in there (but commented out; which gets really ugly). Source control handles that stuff for you, why not take advantage of it? I guess I'd just add some manual way of generating the VCA files before checking it in if I didn't use the VFP/VSS integration. I definitely wouldn't want to give up the advantages of it.
