When you dropped the command button into you grid, it will sit aling side the TEXT control which is already there. In order for you to be able to use this command button, bring up the "text1" control in the properties box. When this has has been selected in the property screen, just click on the title bar on the form that the grid is on and press the delete key. Now you only have your command button in the column.
