1. The V.F.P OLE DB Provider has the potential to be faster than the same thing in a plain vanilla V.F.P Exe.
This strikes me as being extremely unlikely - unless the code is substantially different (which makes no sense - surely it is a subset), or the OLE DB Provider is running in the context of a process on the remote server (i.e. on the same machine as the data).
2. C#'s (and VB.Net) runtime optimizations and caching is sufficiently superior to V.F.P's caching that this is something we should all be cognizant of.
