My client would like to have the total of a grid column, or of more than one (for instance, debit and credit in an accounting system), underneath the column.

I think this might be fairly common request, and would like to know how others solve this.

Some ideas that occured to me:

Put the totals in some arbitrary place on the form. Forget about alignment.

Use fixed column widths.

Change the position dynamically when the column width, order, or horizontal scrollbar change.

I would be grateful for any ideas.
