I remember a trick which used to work in VFP5 - after appending a record and tableupdate(), a simple reccount() call (even with discarding its result) used to force VFP to update the table header. Now while this may not work with current networks and OS quirks, it may be worth a try. It was in the days in W98, W95 and NT4, so, who knows, it may help.
