This test is not representative because the performance difference is probably caused by VFP in BOTH cases, the VFP select statement. Whether doing it natively in VFP or via ODBC or OLE DB it still runs VFP code.
On the .NET side there is nothing to very little data processing done on very small resultsets.
So far my "head-in-the-sand" opinion.
