One other observation I see from articles like this and my experiences where I work. Even with all these emmissions over millions of years, the Earth and our environment have a tremendous ability to heal themselves. If they could not, then we would not be here. Conversely, this does NOT give us license to do as we dang well please and seriously impair [read: not eliminate] Earth's ability to recover from extreme events. FWIW, I am more of a conservationist than an environmentalist.
