This comparison is based upon a specific project at our shop and is representative of our requirements.

I just completed a single form and printed out the code behind page. In ASP I would have about 150 pages of code compared to the eleven I have using ASP.NET.

There is a lot to learn and it is fun, even if I seem to be hitting my head against the wall at times. I am very impressed with ASP.NET!

Comparing ASP with ASP.NET reminds me of going from FoxPro to Visual FoxPro. As Chris Daley of our Silicon Valley VFP User Group put it in 1995, “With VFP we have the promise of writing three lines of code that would take a page in FoxPro. The problem is which three lines and where to put them”? I am at that same stage – which lines and where to put the code?
