This is, admittedly, reaching, but. . .

The result you get sounds suspiciously like what one gets when accessing an array by value - only the first item is returned. I wonder if it might be required to 'address' the array in question by reference??

All records are updated except the one we deliberately locked on another system. The Tableupdate() returns FALSE, as it should with one record not updated.
