>>If this is the foundation of your use of the annoying popup, then I don't believe JVP can be the only recipient. I don't think I would mind if I didn't think it was simply personal. You recently said that your private messages with JVP were polite. Why not the ones publicly?
>
>Oh there are, even today there were some polite messages, but they seem to drown in the other ones.

>And of course, there are other messages that have insulting contents, I agree. But we all know JVPs tactics and we know where it leads to when you don't stop responding to a certain message. Currently only JVP fits in this picture IMO, though in the past I could think of one or two other persons who might have fit this classification as well.
>
>So yes, in one way it is personal, given the history knowing that when he starts offending there is no stop, however on the other hand if the message from JVP does not contain any offending content there is no reason to classify this as a troll message. I really would love to see JVP abandoning the Troll track and get right on technical issues.

>Maybe, there might be another solution where a much more objective judgement is made at the UT management where one person who is identified as to troll frequently, the UT management is able to disable the possibility to respond to that message and adds a marker basically saying something like "This is a trolled message, please ignore it"

>Walter,

That's the Walter I like to see; logical and relaxed.

I think identifying messages that way would be too subjective. And likely too much work for UT staff given the more recent history. <s> But, as much as I do find your discourse with JVP entertaining (much to MH's distress it seems) it does detract from the actual content. Usually I have no idea what the point of a particular thread is anymore as it has drifted from the screen onto the stage, so to speak. In a recent message to JR I mentioned how unique examples are used to argue generalizations and think both you and JVP are guilty of this. It's a common debating technique, but it would be nice to see some real life examples that relate to the majority of situations. As a developer, that would actually be helpful, as opposed to just entertaining.

That all aside, I still think it's a poor decision to use your popup, but will likely still use mine if I feel it's merited.
