There are many "Report to PDF" utilities out there. Most of them are psudo-Printer Drivers. When you use these, a user interface dialog paps up asking you for the filename and other parameters. This is not what I want or need.
---

The fact that a utility acts as a printer driver does not mean that it has to pop up any dialogs. One thing has nothing to do with the other.

The fact that a utility acts as a printer driver simply means it's leveraging the OS capabilities -- appropriately, as I see it, for your needs.

When a utility functions as a printer driver, you can use it with any type of document that "knows how to print itself" -- IOW a document associated with an application that has an appropriate "print" verb or command line syntax.

The whole process can be completely transparent to the user if properly done.
