As to the difference in font size, don't worry much about it, I use GNU/Linux and it must be that I am not using the same font file as the one you specify. I have been lazy and I haven't checked if it's legal to copy my ttf files from one computer to the other (I guess it isn't).
If I use FF on Windows the font is the same in the drop down boxes, yet... I found that not all texts are the same when comparing IE with FF.
