Yes, TO_DATE() is an ORACLE function. You'll find TO_CHAR() equally usefull.

lc_Sql = [SELECT * FROM Sales WHERE TO_CHAR(Sales.OrderDate, 'YYYY') = '] + TRANS(YEAR(DATE())) + ['] && Gets all records for the current year.
