yeah, i made a bubu <g>. sorry about that, but my idea won't work, i was too fast posting it. the error you got was because there was no declare statment (i have mine in the init 1 time only).

but the general idea won't work. i was trying to get it to work with "SPI_SETSCREENSAVERRUNNING" which sounded to me like that would make the saver start running or stop running - but it doesn't.

so i think George's solution is the only possible one.
