I agree that stability should be expected of every release, but sometimes it might be newsworthy to know that the latter portion of the beta period has a specifically stated goal and focus on improving stability -- something that has not always been the case.
As for features, we'll just have to wait and see what finally makes it into the product. The Public Beta is full of new stuff, but sometimes new features make it in even toward the end of beta -- particularly dependent, I guess, on how simple the feature is to integrate into the product and what impact the change might have on stability.
