With the help of your link, I found AddFontResource and modify my application updater to process fonts when found.

I've tested copying fonts over in MSDOS and they don't get installed as fonts and the batch file would essentially do the same. The only successful way I've found is to use windows or the windows api to install fonts so they actually get installed as fonts and not as files.
