I like to think ActiveVFP is a good example of this. It kind of follows the same outline as the Steven Black article Craig pointed out. With AVFP, you read in text from any HTML template, do processing including all evaluations, and then output back out to the browser. Something similar in VB would be much slower - I don't think they ever even attempted to read HTML templates like this...
