I had a similar problem a while back. Deleting HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VisualFoxPro\8.0\Desktop key from the registry fixed it.

>Starting yesterday VFP8.exe starts minimized, although the Run in the shortcut properties is set to 'Normal window'. After it starts, I can right click and maximize it, but when I click on 'Restore down' in the maximized window it minimizes instead of going into a resizable window.
>I tried renaming the foxuser, and the only change was that it will show the command window like a top level window, but the main VFP window behaves the same.
>Reboting didn't help.
>I also have VFP5, and VFP9 installed on the same WS - they behave normally.
>The OS is XP SP1. I don't know if it is a coincidence, but this started after installing SP3 for MS Office XP 2002.
