Hi Barbara,

>>Indeed I´m not using the VFP menu builder, but a data driven solution which creates the menus in with the same commands as the menubuilder. It seems to work in one application, but does not work in two others (one VFP8 and one VFP7). I can´t lay my finger on the exact cause yet, but I suspect it to be some kind of bug in VFP that has to do with some settings. I was hoping someone who could confirm under which circumstance this could occur.

Well, I found the cause. In my meta data tables I did not specify the ALT+< key >. I could not do this here because the application is multilingual and there is no fixed hotkey. However in the caption the hotkey is displayed because of the \< in there. So the accesskey did display but did not work because it was not specified in the DEFINE PAD command.

Strange though that if a form was minimized (but still active) it did work. Thinking about this issue it is also strange that whenever I specify an accesskey in the PROMPT clause of the DEFINE PAD command you still have to specify a key. Basically that is what bit me. The access key was visible but did not work because it was not specified in the KEY clause.

Anyway thanks in making me rethinking the cause.

Walter,
