>must be a bug in IE 6.0...

Dave;

Speaking of I.E. and bugs…

I had written several complex ASP 2.0 applications (ADO and SQL Server) for the corporation I work for and they worked well. Then one fine day we changed corporate browsers from I.E. 5.0 to I.E. 5.5 and they no longer could Add or Edit records using my applications. In fact they deleted the row of data by attempting to Edit!

We opened a Case with Microsoft (that costs money). I sent them a copy of one of my forms so they could review the code and it took two weeks and three Microsoft engineers to resolve the problem.

The reason for my problem? According to Microsoft, “I.E. 5.0 has a bug which allowed the code to run correctly”. I had to change my applications ASAP now that we knew why there was a problem.

By the way I am using the ASP (script) code that created the original problem, with ASP.NET and I.E. 5.5 works fine!

Each version of I.E. has some unique quirks. Just keep smiling so everyone with think you are nuts!

Tom
