We've used SOS over VSS for a few years now; in the VFP SCCAPI you will get an SCCAPI Error Warning now and then, which isn't an error at all, and can be ignored. Other than that, it works.

Speed is determined, it seems to me, by the speed of the processor on the server: I switched out a dual 700 for a single 1000, and the speed increased by about 100%. Processor speed on the client counts, too.
