If you have clientele that categorically won't allow you to use VFP, then use that as a learning opportunity and not as a basis to rant at MS. If the situation demands a different tool, well then, apply a new tool and be smart enough to do it on someone else's dime - setting the appropriate cost and time expectations.

That the way I started in VFP - hardly ever proactively learn something - besides - everything seems to be munging to a universal-automation-script anyway. I would prefer node collections to DBFs and SQL anyway! Maybe someday all data will be cached!

But thank you, and your boss for allowing you to share time, so much for the response:-)
