I never tried this, but the following looks promising:

Tools | Options | Privacy | Edit

It seems that here you can explicitly allow (or deny) cookies for specific sites. I would enable them for yahoo.com and levelextreme.com.

OTOH, if you are concerned about security, I think that Mozilla and Opera are safer than IE.
