If you're new to multi-user concepts, I'd review Chapter 17 in the VFP6 documentation. You may not need buffering at all (buffering = 1, no buffering, which is the default). Before discussing this further you need to understand your own typical multi-user data access scenario, what types of INSERTs/UPDATEs/DELETEs you expect, what type of locking you want to implement, whether you want to use TRANSACTIONs, etc.
