Hi Terry,

IMO, "flat" looking controls are the flavor of the month. I'm not sure how "contemporary" the built in controls are in .NET. Try to make a flat looking combobox in .NET! It's not as simple as setting a property like it is in VFP.

I also find it frustrating (and strange) that MS made the .NET IDE have a totally different look ("flat menus and controls") which I can't duplicate or create for my own winforms UI. At least it isn't easy to duplicate.

OTOH, there are still some controls on the VFP side that don't do "flat" appearances. Example, grids and tabbed pageframes.

Just my 2 cents...
