There was a bug in the base product (Report Designer) in the public beta build connected with reports of the name "Untitled". It is not actually connected to the Report Builder, but I'm pretty sure it's causing what you're seeing.

If I do this:

MODIFY REPORT c:\temp\untitled
* or
MODIFY REPORT c:\temp\untitledsomething

in your build, I'll get the error "File in use", no matter what _REPORTBUILDER I have (or none).

I'm actually surprised you get the exact error, and get as far, as you do <s>. Do you have an error handler that could be masking this earlier error?

This issue is fixed in more recent builds, and I can't repro your problem in a recent build, no matter what Builder I use <s>.

As one more comment on your code: you should use ATC() or uppercase your comparison in this line:

CASE 'Untitled' $ gcReports
