Your right, there are lots of work arounds. I would like to see it changed because some of the remote dbfs I get info from have alot more fields than 255. The as400 that they are located on is slow as a pig on ice, when it comes to giving that information up. So doing two or the SQL's is vary slow. I would love to see the character field made bigger too. I'm about old enough to get over my youthful lust...
