Robert,
At last I could find this thread and read (a long thread). First I don't want to annoy, disrupt (what a hard language, hope at least one is correct) anybody in this thread, pls don't get anything I write wrong. You didn't need to invite anybody to join. You got the best answers, starting with first reply. You also lost time just for enabling a commandbutton. As David said, you could do it in first place. Being more simple, why not set enabled = .t. while designing of that form. I felt you were seeking a way to do it just once and just for your "updatcal" form. But neverthless you (and sure me too - thanks Ed, George,Dave, Mark and David pointed out some good stuff) learned a lot of things about referencing, initialization, OOP way etc. (BTW I wish LINKED clause be default for "do form ... name ..." and replaced with an optional UNLINKED in 6.0). UT is really a wealth. What I could see you were confused with stuffing the variables with their actual names, understanding name expressions , referencing objects, using class libs etc. And any further sampling here might lead more confusion.
Pls do not take any word(s) wrong and you're wellcome anytime.
