either its :
1. permissions on the web server to the folder
2. permissions to where you want to MAP the directory to, for the web server account.


Typically if the data is local to the web server, its a matter of letting the IUSR account have permissions to the proper folder.

IF the data resides on another machine - then you'll need to do some things to allow the IUSR account to get to that 'other' machine.

You gots an admin person floating around ? or a webadmin ? you should be able to explain what you need to them, at a high level, and they can 'handle' the permissions / mapping for you.

There's lots o caveats on the 2nd thing, however.
