Hi, To check if packet fragmentation is occuring at the command prompt type ping -l -f ip_address
Reduce until fragmentation stops, the MTU is this figure plus 28.
Also some security settings can cause slow down, login as admin and see if any difference.
>I just moved a client's small application from windows 98 with an NT Server 2k to a peer to peer where the server is an XP Pro box. There are only 4 computers in this operation. One was not upgraded, it is still running Windows '98 and apparently working fine. The other three are all 2.8 celeron with 512 ram, 75 meg hard drive Dells. The application was written in the last century in Foxpro Windows 2.6. and has been running for years. The network performance is a pig though on XP. I know I've seen some threads here about this, but haven't been able to find anything. Anyone? > >Thanks,
