>FWIW, I have one app that that acts similarly. Every other build/run cycle, it will totally exit VFP8 after the compile, before the run. I have deleted the project and rebuilt from scratch. It still occurs. It must be something contained in the project, but I have't been able to isolate it. You are not alone :-(

So, we may be facing a bug here.
