Depends ... I imagine if you're doing a very simple Select, there's probably not much difference. But, if you have any kind of complicated stuff going on (big humongous Stored Proc or something), then it seems to me that simply getting the existing data that's already been stored in a DataSet has *got* to be a lot faster than hunting for all that data again. <g>
