The way it's set up right now, if DisplayErrorDialog is true, it only displays "simple" broken rules rather than "error provider" style broken rules. I was at a client's site a few weeks ago and they requested I change this, so I' will!
In a scenario where you want to display both the dialog and the error icons, I'm thinking that you wouldn't want the
"Unable to save current data. See error icons for details" dialog to display???
