For PocketPC: if ActiveSync connection is established (via USB, BlueTooth etc.) then RAPI functions (Remote Application Programming) can be used to transfer files between local computer and PDA.

I have several code samples on my web site using this API library to read and change PDA System Registry and to get list of files and folders.

Not sure -- unfortunately -- about beaming, will try somehow.
