There has been an infrequent occurrence of one server (it is a domain server, a web server, and a SQL server; it is pretty strong), becoming extremely slow, and then inaccessible. It has been on Monday mornings that this has happened, when we get back into the office. If we can shut down SQL server, especially SQL Server Agent, the problem goes away.

This last time, I was able to get a snapshot of the Process Info. It had about 100 identical sleeping processes:

user = NT Authority\System,
database = websiteActivity (set up to receive IIS logging info of the website),
command = Select,
status = sleeping.

OS = Win Server 2000 (up to date)
SQL = SQL Server 2000 (up to date)

I do not know what is initiating the NT Authority\System connections. Again, the occurance is infrequent.

Help in this area is very much appreciated.
Thank You

Politicians and diapers have one thing in common. They should both be changed regularly, and for the same reason.
