What controls whether the Insertion Point bar shows in a text box?

I've got some labelled text boxes, and when I tab into them when adding a record, the insertion point does not display. I subclassed cTextBoxl and changed the font size.

These are in a container which is inside of a container on a pageframe of a form. If I use a "native" cTextboxL, I get the same results if it is outside of the first container. If I put a CTextBoxl on the pageframe itself, I can't click into it, but I can tab into it, and it still doesn't show the insertion point.
