'Mystery' resolved :)

It was problem with pagesize.
I was 'sure' that I am dealing with A4, while was actually 'Letter'

I reinstalled printers on both machines
and while w98 printer setup was easily 'convinced' to
keep A4 size as default, it took me some time to set it up
'for good' under w2000.

It drove me mad, but now is ok :)
