If this is true, then why has the US not taken over the Iraqi oil fields and started diverting their oil to the US? While you may not agree with the actions we have taken in Iraq, the US has taken extreme steps to try to protect and build up the Iraqi oil industry for the BENEFIT of Iraq's economy. Of what benefit was this industry to the people of Iraq under Hussein? Looks to me that all it did was keep Hussein, his family and "friends" in a lavish lifestyle and palaces while the "people" lived in squalor.
