When I print using @...say I do not get a formfeed at the beginning of the print job. Are you including a set printer to that you do not need?

port = GETPRINTER()
SET PRINTER TO NAME (port)
SET DEVICE TO PRINT
@1,10 SAY "test"
set device to screen
set print to
