I'm trying to understand whether your old application has anything to do with it. If you open VFP, and USE the table, how long is the delay? (make sure SET EXCLUSIVE is OFF first...)

The performance difference between this and our newer versions, written in VFP 8 is huge (the newer versions being faster). Even still, when looking through the code, I fail to see any reasons why opening the table takes so long. The real problem, however, is that the client operation on some PCs can take up to 3 minutes.
