Ivan:

You are welcome. That's what UT is all about -- sharing experiences.

I am sensitive to the fact that here in the U.S. it is easy to just go out and buy whatever additional software you need to make things work. However, software pricing in most other countries is **relatively** much more expensive than it is here, so telling someone to "Just go get this, that and the other additional software" often is not practical at all in the local setting. That's why Linux and other free open source software are as strong as they are around the world.

Good luck with all that!

>>Networking and printing will work right off the Macs -- you don't need a PC server. It takes a little bit of trial and error, hand waving and spit and bailing wire, but it is possible. I have a number of users running VirtualPC on their Macs with my foxpro (FPW26 and VFP6+) apps successfully.
>>
>>If you want the thing to be speedy (and less multiVirtualPC maintenance headaches), you could look into alternative solutions where you would have the program running on a Windows server and hook the Macs into it via remote control access (a la Citrix -- although I don't know what is available for the Macs in this area). That's potentially an expensive solution, though. Another option is to look into Gotomypc, which lets you connect to a remote control via a simple browser client. I use it all the time, connecting to my system from public Internet access stations from Hong Kong, Norway, New York, where ever I happen to be. It is a single connection system, but they have another one that allows multiple connections, I believe (also by Citrix...).

>>>Thank you very much for your input !

>>>We are also trying to work with a VirtualPC solution, but we haven't being able to create the network connections yet ... they have only Macs in this office, so I think they will have to buy a PC to be the system server. Another thing, have you ever tried this solution ? If so, does the printing reports go alright ?

>>>Thanks again.
