>I am using Dreamweaver MX to build a website, and need to have a local web server in order to test the server-side scripting using PHP. I will not be using the web server once the website is finished (i'll use a web hosing company), but want to be able to test it locally. Therefore, I have installed Apache 2.0.

Paul, if you are behind a firewall, you're safe. I've used Apache (version 1) for over two years and I've recently switched to Apache2. I've never had any problems, of course, I check on a regular basis if there are any security advisories.
