I am using Amyuni PDF Creator to fill in and print PDF forms created with just about any PDF tool. Creator itself can be used to create PDF forms but it is not very smooth. The best way is to create a form in WORD and then print it to a PDF form using Amyuni's printing tool. Creator allows you to add fields to a form, and do just about anything with fields that are already there. It also will print the forms without any interface coming up. The distribution license for this product is about $800.00 but is worth every penny of it.

Here is how it works.
1. I have a VFP procedure that reads the PDF file, using a Creator function, and extracts the field names from it and puts them into a table.
2. I have a master table that contains the names and an index assignment for each PDF form
3. I have a slave table that contains the index for each form, the PDF field names and an entry for an index to another table that contains code or dbf fields ( in a memo field )that I want to print in that PDF field.
4. At print time I evaluate the indexed fields for a particular form and assign the values to the appropriate PDF field and then call the Creator print function.

There have been some problems with some specific printers but overall I am very pleased with the results. We now have several hundred customers using it. It has allowed us to move our application from printing preprinted forms to printing plain paper forms and do away with all the worry and fuss about lining up forms. Customers love it bacause I can present them with a list of forms to print, let them choose which ones to print, hit one button and then collect the pages as they come out of a laser printer. Our form coder loves it because he does not have to spend hours lining up upwards to 100 variables on multipart preprinted forms.
