I haven't used this technique in a long time, but with prior versions of Crystal, you could utilize Fox2x tables (both when specifying a data source at design time, as well as run-time by creating and populating Fox2x tables and passing them on to Crystal.)

I did that for years up through Crystal 6 - I don't know if they took Fox2x support away in later versions, but you could give that a try.
