No such thing as a dumb question (and even if it is, I asked the same questions 2 years ago!).

Subclassing the Winform controls requires writing some code, but it's not that big a deal. This came up just a few weeks ago...check out Message #927812. (Actually, Bonnie and I and a few others have several past messages on this topic).

I put all my subclassed controls into one class library.

Since you're coming from VFP, an excellent book to get is ".NET for VFP Developers" by Kevin McNeish. Also, if you search for topics here on this forum, it's always possible that the answer you're looking for was covered in a prior message.
