try timing just the use

a
as the first user to the table
b
as the second user to the table from the
same machine by opening 2 instances of vfp
c
as the second user from a different machine

I found

c >= 32*b
between( a, 1*b, 1.3*b )

with variations introduced by the type of OS used on
client and file server. Still, that was much less than
8 secs.
